Art Studio & Shop Assistant with Who Art Thou

About the Company
Who Art Thou is an independent Studio and Shop, dedicated to building a platform for Glasgow’s artists, designers and makers. Founded by resident artist, Amy Mae, last November, Who Art Thou has grown from strength-to-strength hosting workshops and events across the city.

The Role
As a successful Art Studio & Shop Assistant, your main responsibilities will include:
• Everyday running of the Shop 
• Studio time to spend on your own discipline and produce work to sell in the shop 
• Assist in pop-up concepts and event management 
• PR and Marketing strategy – producing daily social media content 
• Sourcing and attending relevant events to network 
• Ad hoc admin and fun errands including the Tantrum Doughnut run!

*Please note that you will be required to work 11:00am – 5:30pm, Wednesday to Sunday and attend evening events on occasion.

This role is on a self-employed basis. Please note that you will be invoicing Who Art Thou as a freelance consultant. This is a very simple, uncomplicated process. You will also be advised to register as self-employed with HMRC if you have not already registered. Please note, students in Scotland on a Tier 4 Visa are not permitted to be self-employed and should therefore not apply for this role.  

The ideal candidate will be an Art School graduate, of any discipline, skilled in photography and documentation. You should also be experienced in Retail and Sales and display an interest in PR and Marketing.

We are looking for an individual who is friendly, IT savvy with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

You should be creative, enthusiastic, strongly motivated and able to work on your own initiative. Being well organised, with attention to detail is also important.
