About the Company

Post Electric Studio is a purpose built recording studio in Leith, Edinburgh. It is the collaboration of producer Rod Jones (Idlewild) and mixer Kris Pohl. The studio is in the centre of a lively and creative neighbourhood with a variety of coffee shops, restaurants and bars on the doorstep.

The Role

The successful candidate will mainly be involved in assisting with recording, mixing and editing music.

You will also be expected to help with the day to day running of the studio, this will include:
• Equipment set-up and maintenance
• Communicating with clients to ensure smooth running of recording sessions
• Diary management and performing administrative duties
• Any other tasks required by Rod or Kris


The ideal candidate will be a graduate in sound design, audio/sound engineering or similarly relevant subject. You should have advanced knowledge of Pro Tools software for recording and editing. You will have good knowledge of signal flow, microphone/outboard types and techniques. You will also have good knowledge of recording techniques.

The candidate should be a self-starter with excellent communication skills. You will be able to demonstrate great attention to detail and be highly organised.
