Housing Options Scotland helps disabled people, older people and veterans to find "The Right House, in the Right Place".

In 1997 Housing Options Scotland (HOS) was established to provide a unique public access service to all disabled people throughout Scotland. Today they provide information and advice to disabled people, veterans and older people (they do not provide housing as their name may suggest!).

The charity’s main aim is to ensure that disabled people, veterans and older people can access the right home for them.  HOS advise on social renting, private renting, and home ownership.

The intern will be responsible in assisting the team coordinator in all aspects of the organisation and will undertake the following tasks:

  • organising and attending internal and external meetings;
  • planning and attending events;
  • arranging travel and venues;
  • diary management;
  • dealing with clients via telephone and email;
  • performing desktop research;
  • providing support to the team (volunteers known as HOS mates) and CEO as required.

HOS will provide you with all the necessary equipment (phone/laptop/tablet) in this internship.

The right candidate can come from any type of degree background or ideally will have experience in a related field. You will be a motivated self-starter with a positive attitude and good work ethic who is able to take responsibility and be accountable for actions.

HOS are looking for someone with good interpersonal and communication skills plus the ability to work well in a team. As the job involves confidentiality and sensitivity, it is desirable that you will have experience working within this type of environment.
