The Role

This is maternity cover for a Partnerships Manager role and there is an associated Job Description available (please ask – support@aai-employability.org.uk)

The main responsibilities of the role are  to identify, build and maintain effective partnerships with national bodies who can help Sustrans to deliver the Scottish Government commitments on walking, cycling and wheeling. To work to identify and develop new partnership opportunities for Sustrans with key national partners to deliver shared objectives. The post holder will build, develop and lead a team who will work directly with and within the partner national organisations. 

 

Requirements 

The ideal candidate will be measured and well-considered with excellent verbal and written communication skills. 

You will also have:

  • Strong effective leadership skills
  • Ability to develop and maintain successful working relationships
  • Ability to communicate authoritatively and persuasively
  • Ability to innovate and develop new and existing projects
  • Excellent negotiation and influencing skills
  • Ability to use diplomacy skills in all communication
  • Facilitation skills

You will also be a self-starter with the ability to work to a great extent on own initiative with limited supervision and the ability to think laterally.

You will be able to demonstrate in the following:

  • Experience of delivering complex, multi-partner projects at a senior level to deadline and within budget
  • Experience of successful and productive partnership working and delivering complex budgets to a high standard.
  • A track record in networking and partnership development
  • Experience of organisational development
  • Experience of managing and developing staff
  • Experience of leading relationships with funding bodies.
  • Experience of both proactive and reactive problem solving.

The post is line managed by the Head of Strategic Partnerships & Business Development. The post has line management responsibility.
