Business Support Officer with Plexus Law


Location: Edinburgh 

£15,00-20,000 per annum dependant on experience 
Full-time, for 12 months initial contract. 
Immediate/April 2016 start

Plexus Law is a specialist  insurance law firm with offices in London, Manchester, Leeds, Croydon, Evesham, Liverpool and associated offices in Scotland. The firm works with insurance companies, blue chip corporate and public sector clients as well as the Lloyd’s market. 
There are opportunities for graduates joining the business, whether law or non law graduates, to pursue a legal career as well as the opportunities for career development in a range of roles which support the firm’s delivery of legal services.  There is the potential for this post to be extended/become permanent for the right candidate. 
The Role 
The Business Support Officer will provide administrative support to the legal team in our Edinburgh office. Your main duties will involve: 
• Dealing with internal and external correspondence and communications 
• Dealing with telephone calls 
• Liaising with third party suppliers 
• Booking travel tickets and accommodation 
• Managing the diary 
• Gathering and recording of client MI 
• Administering the case management system and maintaining other office systems 
• Managing the financial transactions and working closely with the finance team 
• Being involved in the creation and preparation of client pitches and presentations 
The successful candidate will be educated to a degree level with excellent verbal and oral communication skills. You should also have a good standard of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint and a good telephone manner. 
The candidate should be able to organise effectively and work to tight deadlines. The ability to take initiative, as well to be able to effectively prioritise and manage one's own workload is also essential.  
Experience of working in an office environment and telephone call handling are desirable but not essential.
