Furlough Volunteer Roles


The Coronavirus pandemic is having a devastating impact on many small businesses, social enterprises and charities. This sector of the economy usually employs a huge number of people across Scotland, and supports local and national communities in a variety of ways. 
AAI feels that it is vital to support these small employers to survive through the current lockdown situation, so that they remain in place to provide employment and services in the future.


Over the coming weeks we will be advertising a number of voluntary positions that will help keep these businesses, social enterprises and charities afloat, and allow people who want to contribute their skills and abilities to do so. These roles will be suitable for people who have been put on furlough by their current employer.


Alongside these will be some opportunities with employers who want to pay for the work that furloughed workers do for them. Applicants should ensure that their existing employment contract allows them to engage in paid work while they are furloughed.

Despite the huge impact on businesses caused by the current situation, the AAI team is still working hard behind the scenes, in various ways appropriate to the situation, to support employers looking for help and individuals looking for work.

We will still therefore be advertising paid opportunities of varying lengths as we usually do, but there may be fewer of these until businesses start to see some movement in the markets they operate in.
