The Organisation

"Established in the Scottish Highlands in 2004, Scottish Counselling Services has grown from a small local service provider into a market-leading organisation covering the Scottish mainland and islands.

We are a client-led service and we place the needs of the client and the client organisation at the heart of everything we do.  A core part of our ethos is to ensure that access to our counselling is as easy as we can possibly make it. This means that we routinely aim to offer a flexible service, which accommodates the client in terms of location, day of the week and time of day. Our team of 21 experienced and qualified counsellors provide a warm, flexible and professional service in two distinct and separate areas – Adults and Young People – and we offer expertise across a range of counselling specialisms and styles including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, person-centred, psychodynamic, integrative, relationship, dependency, trauma counselling and support.

All our counsellors are fully qualified for their designated roles, with at least 3 years post qualifying experience.  All undertake continuous professional development (CPD) in line with their professional body (BACP, COSCA, NCS, BABCP, UKCP, UKRCP etc), as well as regular supervision.

We are skilled in crisis intervention, mediation, critical incident support, signposting to other services and resources, and health promotion, and have robust processes and procedures in place to ensure the wellbeing of our clients is at the forefront of everything we do.

Our mission is to provide distinctive quality and unparalleled client services as we strive to gain the respect and trust of our clients, stakeholders and partner providers."

The Role

The Covid-19 pandemic has meant a vast reduction in face-to-face interaction for many people. With this comes a reduced opportunity for personal referral to counselling services through workplaces, services linked to health and education, and other supportive agencies. As a result of this, people who currently may have an increased need for counselling support may find access to it difficult.

Scottish Counselling Services has always worked on the basis of organisational and personal referral of clients, and has never needed to develop a social media presence. In this very different environment, the time has come for that to change, and the organisation needs some help to establish a social media footprint.

It is recognised that advice on strategic digital messaging and marketing, and on the principles of B2B and B2C digital engagement will be vital at this time.

Support to establish useful measurement of digital activity would be greatly appreciated too.
