About the Company

Bird Gardens Scotland is a recently incorporated community interest company that works on the conservation of threatened bird species. In year three of development, the CIC is now in a position to move forward with plans including building breeding facilities for capercaillie, black grouse, ptarmigan, corncrake, diving ducks and flamingos.

The Role

Bird Gardens Scotland is seeking a fundraiser to help achieve the necessary funds for the development and expansion of the gardens.

Your responsibilities will include:
• Writing funding applications to access funding opportunities
• Creating ideas for making applications stand out
• Helping achieve the funding required to create the facilities listed above
• Researching additional opportunities for further funding

This role is crucial to ensuring Bird Gardens Scotland gain the essential funding needed to be actively involved in the global efforts to safeguard the future of these threatened, fascinating and inspiring birds.


The ideal candidate will be an innovative and motivated individual whatever their academic background. You should be highly organised with effective written and verbal communication skills. Strong creative skills, enthusiasm and commitment are essential.

You should have an interest in business development and a passion for community enhancement. You should be confident working in a small team to achieve goals and having experience of carrying out research projects and surveys is beneficial.
