The Role

Aeneas is ready to take on his first member of staff and is looking for someone who shares his knowledge and passion for Scotland and all it has to offer as a destination in terms of travel and tourism.

This is an ideal role for a travel enthusiast with a creative flair and passion for selling Scotland's beauty and charm in words and images. It will be a great opportunity for someone who wants to develop their broad marketing and travel experience.

Reporting directly to Aeneas your duties will fall broadly into three categories:

Content Marketing

• Pitching blog content ideas and writing blogs for the website

• Ensuring the website is up to date

• Pitching ideas for posts for Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter

• Maintaining monthly social media content calendar 



• Contributing relevant newsletter ideas

• Setting up and mailing newsletters

• Analysing the success of each newsletter campaign



• Data inputting for travel itineraries (training will be given)

• Conducting itinerary research

• General support with admin tasks


This post is very flexible and you will be able to deliver the work from anywhere in Scotland and at the times that suit you best to work. You will be paid by Adopt An Intern Ltd but report to Away From The Ordinary. The amount of work you do (in hours as well as content) will be determined between you and AWTO.

Skills & Experience

• Copywriting skills

• An excellent eye for detail, checking all aspects of content

• A good eye for design 

• A passion for travel, particularly Scotland

• Basic knowledge of Photoshop, image editing, and social media platforms is a bonus
