Marketing and Communications Intern with FEAST

FEAST is a social start-up looking to make a big positive impact in the community.

Location: Edinburgh with some local travel

£7.85 per hour. Part-time for an initial 3 months
Ideal start: Mid-March 2015

The FEAST philosophy is simple; that good nutritious food makes people healthier and happier. It brings together families, friends and communities. FEAST want people to have access to locally sourced, nutritionally balanced meals. Not only does this make them happier, it also gives them an easy and positive way to contribute and be a part of their community. FEAST source most products locally and work with local young people to create their products.

FEAST are looking for an intern to join their team to assist with their marketing and communications. Within this role you will work on:
• Social media campaign management
• Create relationships and two-way dialogues with online audience

• Print and digital marketing 

• Content creation

• Related office administration duties

This is an exciting opportunity to join a business where you can make a real difference. As a small start up there will be the opportunity to get involved in other aspects of the business.


The ideal candidate will be educated to degree level with a background and interest in marketing and/ or communications. You will have excellent spelling, grammar and all round verbal and spoken communication skills. Some office experience (emails, phone, proof reading etc.) would be advantageous. You should have strong IT skills with a working knowledge of PowerPoint and Word.

You will have an eye for good design and detail. You will be comfortable using Twitter, Google+, Facebook and LinkedIn. A natural born problem solver, you will be able to undertake research, analysis and clearly present your findings. You should have a knowledge of marketing tools and techniques. Video editing skills would be a bonus.

You will have a can do attitude, be outgoing lively and fun with the ability to inspire others. You will be comfortable working in a fast paced changing environment and desire to be part of a small business. You will be up for new challenges and always willing to learn. You should be able to prioritise your own work effectively managing multiple projects at once and deal with conflicting demands.
