At Adopt an Intern, we’ve been supporting ‘Returners’ before anyone was calling them ‘Returners’, so when the Scottish Government pledged to help women back to work after a career break, we were the first in line to offer to help.
AAI partnered with Radiant & Brighter to focus on the challenges that Minority Ethnic women face when looking to reignite their careers.
Our incredible launch events attracted 100+ women to meet with employers, network, get 1-1 coaching and access exclusive ‘Returnship’ opportunities from partner employers across Scotland. In 2018, workshops in Glasgow, Edinburgh and Aberdeen included presentations from AAI speakers, community group representatives, and guest employers that recognised that terminology and technology may change, but aptitude and attitude does not!
As the work on this project continues, we’re very proud of the women who took the step to attend these workshops, tell their stories and use our support to help highlight their undeniable talent and inspirational attitudes.
