Last week AAI had the privilege of attending ACOSVO’s Annual Conference: ‘Creative Leadership – Innovate! Integrate! Inspire!’ and it certainly was inspiring!
The conference saw over 100 leaders from across the third sector gather together to share ideas and best practice, hear real-life stories, network and strengthen professional relationships.
A packed agenda saw many innovative and engaging speakers take to the stage and unpack how they have used creative leadership to make a real difference to real people. Pat Armstrong, ACOSVO’s Chief Executive, opened the conference by establishing the theme of the day – Creative Leadership and how it can be used to overcome challenges and situations faced by any organisation.
“Being a creative leader does not mean having all the ideas, but rather having the ability to develop a culture where everyone can contribute and feel that they’re valued.” – Pat Armstrong, Chief Executive, ACOSVO
Among the others speaker were some Adopt an Intern employers, including Social Bite Founder, Josh Littlejohn who unpacked the story behind Social Bite and Josh’s ambition to grow his Social Business to compete with the big High Street brands. A full list of speakers can be found here.
Round tables gave delegates an opportunity to learn more about a specific subject. Adopt an Intern CEO, Joy Lewis, was thrilled to be chair the ‘Benefits vs Risks of employing young people new to the workforce,’ round table where delegates shared experiences, case studies and practical advice.
A fascinating and encouraging event, we’re already looking at how we can better integrate Creative Leadership into all we do at Adopt an Intern!
