Which of Scotland’s big employers do graduates most want to work for?

We all have aspirations of what we want to do in our early years – mainly because every parent, relative and family friend asks it of us. As we grow older career guidance can instigate a course of action and this may involve further education.

Adopt an Intern has placed well over 900 graduate interns with businesses throughout Scotland, predominantly with small and medium sized employers. In 2015 the organisation has also received a lot of interest in and from Scotland’s bigger businesses that traditionally form the heart of Scotland’s economy.

So which of these big businesses is the ‘most wanted’ in fulfilling our graduate’s career desires?

Adopt an Intern has surveyed the graduate population of Scotland to find out just that. To be announced at its inaugural awards evening at the Scottish Parliament on Thursday 30 April 2015, Adopt an Intern, having canvassed a large representation of Scotland’s graduate population, will reveal which of Scotland’s big businesses has received this accolade for 2015.

The awards reception takes place on the 5th anniversary of Adopt an Intern, which was formed as a result of high levels of graduate unemployment and a lack of paid, meaningful internship opportunities throughout Scotland. Roseanna Cunningham MSP, Cabinet Secretary for Fair Work, Skills and Training is the keynote speaker, with an attendance in excess of 300 from Scotland’s economic and political landscape expected.

Joy Lewis, Chief Executive of Adopt an Intern, said:

“There are many outstanding employers throughout Scotland in a number of important economic sectors. We have worked with successful organisations of all shapes and sizes and I am delighted to say that this year we are also seeing significant interest from our larger employers. We work hard on understanding how best we match businesses – whatever the size – with the career aspirations of our graduates.

“Our survey gives a valuable insight into which of Scotland’s larger organisations our graduates most desire to embark on a career with.

“We look forward to revealing this result at our first awards evening later this month.”
