The Role

ATLAS Arts is looking for a proactive Programme Assistant over the summer to support their work around a new commission by Richard Skelton as part of A Work for the North Atlantic and a large-scale installation by Cooking Sections, CLIMAVORE: On Tidal Zones.

Roles and responsibilities:

• Assist in the research, planning and delivery of the ATLAS public programme events for A Work for the North Atlantic and CLIMAVORE: On Tidal Zones
• Liaise with individuals and organisations to plan and deliver film screenings, guided walks and specialist talks
• Assist with artist, audience and visitor liaison and hospitality
• Support and assist the core ATLAS staff in the delivery of and other projects as required
• Update the ATLAS website and social media
• General administration
• Other tasks as required

*Hours of work: Monday – Friday, 10am – 6pm


The ideal candidate will be educated to degree level in a relevant qualification with some previous experience of delivering similar events and projects. You will demonstrate strong administrative skills and be knowledgeable in working with social media tools. The positive individual should have excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills. It is essential for the candidate to be flexible enough to work some weekends or evenings and have an interest in working in the arts.

This exclusive 3-month internship is an excellent opportunity to gain invaluable practical experience in events management, marketing and client account management. Within this role you will develop and utilise business development skills, and have the opportunity to expand your professional network, whilst empowering a dynamic and innovative arts company.

Desirable traits:

• Proficiency in Gaelic
• Interest and experience in contemporary arts, culture, music and the environment
• Knowledge of technical set-up for projectors, laptops audio equipment etc.
