The Organisation

"The Growth Partnership develops and promotes Social Impact Investment in Scotland using a unique financial and legal structure – the Social Impact Investment Partnership (SIIP).

The SIIP is a partnership between the Private, Public and Social sectors to ensure the provision of high quality, person-centred, sustainable, cost-effective services in the community. In essence, the SIIP involves three parties:

•  Delivery Partner who designs and delivers a service in the community to address a recognised social issue e.g. youth unemployment
•  Investment Partner(s) who provide the working capital to cover the cost of service delivery in the first instance
•  Outcome Partner who agrees a set of mutually desirable outcomes with the Delivery Partner. When these outcomes are achieved then the Outcome Partner pays for the service allowing the Investment Partner(s) to be repaid with interest.

You can find out much more on The Growth Partnership website.

The Role

The Growth Partnership is keen to secure investment in SIIPs from retail investors. To achieve this we will need to work with a professional company which is registered with the FCA to facilitate retail investment.

We would like to find someone who can assist us in clarifying how retail investment can be secured and identifying a company who can deliver this service to support the establishment of Social Impact Investment Partnerships.

We are also keen to understand how we can develop a network of finance professionals who can work with Delivery Partners to widen the scope of Social Impact Investment going forward.

The priorities we are looking for help with are as follows:

•  Identify clearly the necessary requirements and structures for a professional company to secure retail investment in potential SIIP based services.
•  Support The Growth Partnership in securing the services of an appropriate company
•  Assist The Growth Partnership in developing a network of finance professionals who can work with others to promote the effective use of Social Impact Investment.
