Kristin Mason -Communications and CSR Intern, LifeScan Scotland

In the last 10 months I have been involved in managing and distributing internal communications for over 1,000 employees, organising a global meeting, running a national CSR event with J&J companies throughout the UK and so much more.

The workload is extremely varied and you often get to work with people from across the organisation. It has been fantastic to work for the part of Johnson & Johnson which is the biggest healthcare company in the world; I’ve been able to take part in meetings and calls with colleagues from across Europe and the US.

I feel that in 10 months I have learnt a great deal in Communications but also the business as a whole and how large a business functions. I have also worked with design and media agencies which has strengthened my knowledge of external partnerships. It has also been great to work on several CSR initiatives which has broaden my knowledge of the local area and community.

The move to Inverness was a big decision, however I am happy with the decision. I was welcomed to the area and have made good friends through work which has helped me to settle in. Inverness isn’t a big city however there are transport links to Edinburgh, Glasgow and Aberdeen so you don’t feel too remote. The social aspects of Inverness can seem quite however since moving to Inverness I have become more active by joining a gym and have also started learning how to drive.

I would definitely recommend people to apply for this internship!
