Adrienne Murphy – Marketing Intern, DiaryDoll

I would describe myself as the type of person who likes to be kept busy, so when I started my internship I was pleased I was put to work straight away.

On a daily basis I am learning new skills and developing current ones. Being in the office everyday has enabled me to learn how to use Photoshop in detail and other software programmes that will enhance my CV and I will be able to use in future jobs.

I have been able to do some experience with a PR and Marketing Agency within Glasgow which has been a great opportunity and has pushed me straight out of my comfort zone. They have shown me what is required in a monthly social media content plan and helped me call journalists and the press, something which I would have never been able to do in the past.

I have been able to build a wealth of contacts which is key for the future! It has also allowed me to build my confidence and approach people for help and advice. I have learned so much already and am excited to see what the next two months holds, with new product launches and press days.

Without Adopt an Intern, I would probably be working within a job that I was not passionate about or even worse, working in an unpaid internship! Adopt an Intern has been a fantastic resource for myself and so many other graduates out there, we are extremely blessed to have these opportunities.
