Adopt an Intern predicts a record year for internships in Scotland.
Adopt an Intern has announced that it is to have a celebration of Scottish internships as it predicts a record uptake of interns in 2015.
The showcase event will take place at the Scottish Parliament on Thursday 30th April and comes on the 5th anniversary of the organisation, set up in 2010 as a result of high levels of graduate un/underemployment and a lack of paid, meaningful internship opportunities. The event will also encompass an awards reception, celebrating the success and commitment of Adopt an Intern employers and interns in reducing youth unemployment, enhancing business growth and contributing to the Scottish Economy.
Awards are open to previous and current Adopt an Intern employers and interns. Would you like to recognise the achievements of your intern? Did your employer provide you with a life changing internship experience? Please visit the awards page to nominate them for an award.
To date Adopt an Intern has successfully placed 850 interns and confidently predicts another record year following on from great strides in over the last 2 years with support from employers as diverse as Rolls Royce, Social Bite, Investors in People and Blipfoto.
Joy Lewis, CEO of Adopt an Intern said
‘Our 5 year anniversary celebration is a crystallisation of what the Adopt an Intern team have been working relentlessly on for the last 5 years and we want to get our message out to as many of Scotland’s employers as we can. The young talent of Scotland is the lifeblood of much of Scotland’s economic success in the future and it is key both from a personal and corporate perspective that this is embraced. In many discussions I have had with employers of all sizes over the last few months there is clear realisation of the benefits that internships can give business – I am very confident that we can make significant strides over the course of 2015 and predict it will be a record year in terms of interns placed’.
The celebration will be attended by representatives from major UK businesses from start-ups to multi-nationals, third and public sector organisations, senior policy makers and dynamic young people, alongside ministerial engagement. We anticipate a fantastic event that will showcase our talented interns, committed business partners and engaged politicians. It will also be an enjoyable evening of networking and celebration that will attract media attention.
Places for this event are limited. If you would like to register your interest in attending please get in touch.
