This internship would be ideal for any graduate looking to gain essential career experience to launch their career in the business environment in either the public or private sector.
Within Stirling Council’s Housing and Environment Directorate, the newly established Business Strategy Unit has an opportunity for an intern to be directly involved with the development of new Performance Management and Business Management systems and processes across the wider Directorate.
Within this role your main tasks will be to assist the team leaders of the BSU and to undertake research and support the development of new Performance Management and Business Management systems across the full range of services within the Housing and Environment Directorate.
This opportunity would particularly suit an intern who has studied or has a real interest in going into Business Management and who is looking to put into practice their skills with some practical experience in the public sector. The intern will be skilled in research and analysis, have the ability to write reports and develop business cases for various audiences, as well as using IT software and will use their skills to facilitate the development, introduction and implementation of business and performance processes. The intern will be working closely with team leaders in the BSU who will be providing practical support and mentoring throughout the duration of the internship.
The successful intern will be a self-starting graduate, who is organised, able to work to deadlines and uses their own initiative to get the job done. You will be an excellent communicator with outstanding written and oral communication skills. You should possess strong research skills and be highly proficient in ICT with an interest in using your skills to develop existing processes as well as support colleagues in how they are used. Additional ICT development skills will be favourable and highly regarded. Existing project management skills are a must, Prince 2 level qualification would be beneficial.
Ideally you will have a full driving license.
