The Role

Reporting to Brand Calibre’s Director, you will assist in creating content to tell stories that strike a chord with their audiences. This is an exciting opportunity to join a passionate, dedicated and candid group of creatives who love connecting with people, sharing experiences and building relationships with their clients built on an understanding of how to share their message.

In this role your main tasks/responsibilities will be (but not limited to):

● Assisting on video and photo shoots
● Maintaining equipment store
● Filming (once competent)
● Editing videos (basic editing to begin with)
● Logging footage
● Answering calls to the office
● Planning shoots



This role will ideally be suited to an industrious graduate with experience in editing and filming. The team are keen to train up the right person to shoot and edit to Brand Calibre standards.

Brand Calibre's own social presence and marketing efforts often feature their team either in photos or videos used to promote the company and communicate the personality of our brand. As such in this role, you’ll need to be happy to be on-camera, comfortable in your own skin and be yourself (for reference, please check out their website and Instagram to see what we mean!)

Brand Calibre is looking for a graduate with the following:

● A familiarity of working on Macs as Brand Calibre don’t use PCs at all
● A familiarity of NLE (Non-Linear Editing) platforms, preferably Final Cut Pro or Premiere Pro
● An eye for composition and an understanding of film language
● An understanding of using a variety of different cameras and lenses
● An understanding of how to light for video
● The ability to problem solve
● The ability to take instruction then work independently with little further input from the team
● Resourceful and will work to get the job done using the tools made available to them, someone who can take full responsibility of the work they produce.
● Hard-working and not afraid to work long hours when needed. From time-to-time they may need to work weekends, or work away from home for days at a time (one of their biggest clients is based in London)
● A full drivers licence and is a confident driver

● An eagerness to learn their trade
● Someone who isn’t afraid of not knowing the answer but is brave enough and displays impetus to find out
● Gives consideration, thought and logic to their creative decisions
● Someone who is (genuinely) open to creative feedback without taking it personally
● Able to adapt to many different personality types, able to fit in with those people and be able to generate rapport with them quickly (ergo sum - have some banter)
● Someone who is diplomatic and able to smooth over potentially difficult situations while on shoots
● Someone who is willing to go above and beyond to deliver a project to a tight deadline

● Good sense of humour

The team at Brand Calibre have all worked their way from the bottom and are looking for someone who is keen to also work their way up. They are small (in numbers) but a hard working bunch who are up for having a laugh but know when to focus. Brand Calibre have high ethical standards, are lively and energetic, precious about their craft, and pride themselves on producing good content for their clients.
