Marketing Intern with Eigg Box

Eigg Box supports Eigg-based artists and creative businesses by providing training, showcasing and development opportunities. Eigg Box also facilitates opportunities for visiting artists to come to Eigg to develop their own practice or to work with the community.

Location: the Isle of Eigg
£7.65 an hour for 20 hours per week for three months
Ideal start date is Monday 12 January 2015.

As part of its support to Eigg’s creative businesses, Eigg Box is about to launch a marketing and PR campaign to market and promote the creative services and products from the island further afield. This will include online, print and PR activity.

The campaign will be led by Eigg Box, supported by a freelance Marketing and PR professional and involve working with up to ten creative businesses on the island.

Eigg Box is offering the opportunity to join the organisation as an intern. You will work with the creative businesses on the island and with the Marketing & PR professional in the following areas.

• Promoting Eigg Box website and those of other creative businesses on Eigg
• Developing marketing tools and materials
• Contributing to social media sites
• Providing copy and images for website(s)
• Building press and media database
• Developing press and PR opportunities
• Market research
• Assist with running training and showcasing events

You will be supported and mentored by a professional PR and Marketing professional.

The ideal candidate would have interest or experience in some or all of the following
• The arts and creative industries
• Marketing, media or communications
• The Isle of Eigg
• Events management

You will be a strong team player who works well as part of a small team but is also comfortable working on their own, using their own initiative. You should be highly organised and able to stick to tight deadlines. An excellent communicator, you will have be able to produce effective written copy and be confident in communicating with others both verbally and in writing, especially via email. You will be a passionate individual, looking to develop your skills and take the next step in your career.
