About the Company

Doune the Rabbit Hole is an intimate, independent music and arts festival located amidst the glorious ancient oak trees of the Cardross Estate, near (Scotland’s ONLY) Lake of Menteith, in Stirlingshire.

We started life in 2010, at a site near the town of Doune (hence the name!) and for the last 8 years have been celebrating the very best of Scotland’s independent/DIY arts scene alongside amazing international guests.

The Role

Doune the Rabbit Hole Festival is looking for a Social Media Intern to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic graduate to deploy their strong knowledge of the digital media landscape, including various social media sites, particularly Facebook and Twitter, in a business environment that is creative and growing.

The successful candidate will work within our Marketing Team, under our Social Media Manager, and will be responsible for contributing to Social Media and website redesign projects, monitoring and posting on blogs and social networks (in line with DTRH brand and tone of voice), engaging in online forums, responding to direct messages, participating in promotion and optimizing our website. The ideal candidate will be comfortable taking overall responsibility for certain projects or campaigns and would enjoy the process. Those looking to gain valuable online media experience in what can be a high-pressure environment with an exciting, established organization are encouraged to apply.

The successful candidate will ideally be educated to at least HND level or hold an undergraduate degree in Marketing, Advertising or PR/Communications. However, applications from those with a demonstrable passion for the creative industries and a background of relevant experience will be considered.

You should be confident when using a range of social media platforms to carry out brand communication, digital community/audience development, and customer service. You will have excellent written, oral, and interpersonal skills. You should be a creative individual, be highly organised, have a keen eye for detail, and a critical mind to problem solving. The ability to work under pressure with a ‘can do attitude’ while maintaining an organised and professional working manner that adheres to strict timelines is important. You must be able to work flexibly, as part of a team, and be confident contributing to ideas and solutions.

You should be able to demonstrate the following skills and experience:
• An HND or Bachelor's Degree in Communications or in a related field
• Recent experience in social media/marketing
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• In-depth working knowledge of Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, Pinterest and Google+
